Here is an overview of the topics and themes we will cover this half term.

Week beginning 15th June

In maths we are focusing on recapping all of the learning from this year. The children have focused on patterns this week and finding the rule. In Literacy, the children write onomatopoeias and in RE we learnt the features of a synagogue.

 

 

Week beginning 8th June

 

The children had a visit from B&Q Road safety team this week. The children learnt more about how to be safe on and near the roads. We even got to sit in the lorry and press the horn! In maths we have been consolidating learning and in PSED we thought about resilience and perseverance!


Week beginning 1st June

The children have begun their new DT unit by investigating what materials are waterproof. They explored a range of materials, decided what waterproof means and then conducted any experiment. In Maths we have looked at sharing and groups. The children have share out equally and also into different amounts of groups. They worked out that some numbers can't be shared equally all the time.

Week beginning 18th June

The children have really enjoyed our Supertato unit in literacy and this week Evil Pea was on the loose! They produced some incredible writing to tell me what to look for around school. In maths the children have focused on shape, creating a giant shape picture and also recapping previous 3D shape learning.


Week beginning 11th May

This week we went to Eureka! We had the best time exploring the museum and learning about the senses! The children have also been busy exploring shape in maths.

Week beginning 4th May

Its been a busy week in which we've created a friendship recipe, rotated shapes for purpose in Maths and observed how our sunflowers are growing!


Week beginning 20th April

The children have been busy this week helping to begin planting and tidying up the outside area ready for springtime! In Maths they have focused on counting beyond 20 and in PE we have started our cooperation and team work topic!


Week beginning 13th April 

This week the children have spent a day in Forest school, completed drawing club around the story Superworm, stitched our initials on bookmarks and enjoyed playing in the outside area more.

Spring 2 Curriculum

Religious Education – Where Muslims worship and the festivals Eid and Easter.

PE - Multi skills

Understanding the World - Changes of state ie melting and freezing.

Week commencing 23rd March

This week has been all about number bonds to 5!


Week beginning 9th March 

This week the children have been looking at compositions of numbers to 10 in Maths, create our own pray mats while learning about a mosque and created some amazing things in the construction area.

Week commencing 2nd March

A busy week which included practising rolling a ball in PE, learning more about Eid, going on a bear hunt and finishing the week with Workd book day!


We have been looking at 3D shapes in Maths. The children have explored it in various ways using language such as curved surfaces and flat edges.

This half-term in Maths we have been learning all about the numbers 6, 7 and 8. The children have explored concepts such as composition, subitising, pairs and doubling.
