Maths - Decimals, money, shape, statistics.

Religious Education - Why do some people view life as a journey?

Art - Fabric of Nature.

Geography - Mountains.

PSHE - Citizenship.

PE - Outdoor adventurous activities.

Dance Workshop!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our dance workshop with PE Pro today, learning a disco routine to 'Night Fever'.

Science Egg-speriment!

Byland Class recently conducted a week long science experiment where they investigated which liquids would cause the most harm to our teeth (represented by a boiled egg). The results were quite shocking and we were surprised to learn that apple juice and black currant juice damaged the eggs the most! We discussed how important it is to brush our teeth at least twice a day and not have juice sitting on our teeth all day. The children then understood why we only drink water at school! 🐝🌟

B&Q Day

We have had a great day with B&Q learning all about road safety and keeping ourselves safe!

Letters to Keir Mather MP

We have written letters to Keir Mather, explaining our concerns about the local environment, as well as garbage patches forming across the oceans and single-use plastic. We are hoping to receive a response from Mr Mather and have invited him to school. Fingers crossed he will be able to come and visit us to tell us of his plans to help the planet!

Forest School

We had a great time at forest school today, exploring our new theme 'Fabric of Nature'. We created tie-dye patterns using blueberries, tumeric and other natural resources. We also made dens, maintained a fire, cooked cheesy wraps and snores!

York Railway Museum! 🚂🌟

Byland Class have had the most amazing time today visiting York Railway Museum. We explored Station Hall and Great Hall and also enjoyed the 'Fire Powered' workshop and time to play in the Wonderlab. We even saw a replica of the Rocket, which we have learned about in school! 🐝

DT - Slingshot Cars

We have built three different prototypes of car mechanisms this week and tested how far they can travel. We worked in teams of three to complete this project and each have our own car to take home!

Class Assembly

We have had a great afternoon giving a whole school assembly to all classes and our parents and carers. We explained what we have been learning about Pompeii, volcanoes and earthquakes. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Forest School - Spring 1

We have had a fantastic Forest School session today! We managed to cope brilliantly with the cold temperatures and made structures that could withstand an earthquake. We also made our own slingshots, built dens and cooked cheesy potatoes. All of our learning linked in perfectly with our current Science and Geography units too!
