This morning we had a very special letter arrive at school addressed to the children of Selby Class straight from Windsor Castle and the Queen!!!

I hope you are all as pleased and we are with the letter and when we are all back together we can look at all the information we have been sent!

Sunflowers 

Each child was sent home with part of an egg box and two sunflower seeds. We would like you to fill the egg box with soil and plant the two sunflower seeds. We would like the children to keep a diary about the plant. What is happening? What does the sunflower need? Where are you keeping the egg box? Can you find out about the different parts of the flower and their names? Can you record how much it grows every two days?

Once the seed has grown enough you can plant the egg box outside (it is biodegradable) and watch how tall your sunflowers get! Please keep the record in the green home work book.

We are really looking forward to seeing everyone's sunflowers!
