Numbers: Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.

This week’s focus will be different every day. We will be looking at all of the maths we have covered over the half term.

Starter: coin recognition activity. Can you show your child a coin and ask its worth? Ensure they can remember it is for example, 20p is worth 20 1p’s.

Main activity: today we will focus on subtraction. Very similar to yesterday I have attached some word problems and I would like your child to identify the number sentence and write it in their green books. Then move onto  Mathletics.

Remember any work needs to go into their green work home books and on tapestry please.
