ELG Numbers: Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing. 

This week’s focus will be all around subtraction.

 

Starter: counting down from 20. I have attached the video we use at school.

 

Main activity: Today I would like your child to complete a game on topmarks. I have attached the link below. The mental maths train, click on the subtraction cart and the select 'up to 10'. Your child may need support while doing this, they can use their fingers or objects from around the house to help. The challenge is to move onto 'up to 20'.
