Shape, space and measures: Children use everyday language to talk about size, weight, capacity, position, distance, time and money to compare quantities and objects and to solve problems. They recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes and use mathematical language to describe them.
This week’s focus will be money.
Starter: counting up and down from 20 and counting in two’s. I have attached our favourite videos.
Main activity: today we are going to be thinking about adding up money to make an amount. I have attached a sheet that is ‘how much does the ice cream cost?’. Work through this with your child. When you move onto 2p, 5p and 10p always remind your child that it is worth 2 pennies or 10 pennies. If they need help use some objects within your house to help them.
Remember any work needs to go into their green work home books and on tapestry please.
