Word Gap – this is our guided reading format in Selby Class.

 

ELG – Communication and Language: Speaking, Listening and Understanding.

 

Today I would like you to read through the story again and this time focusing on fierce, terrible and creature. Ask your child can they explain what that word means? Do they know? Have they heard it before? Can they use it in a sentence? Could they even draw a picture or tell you where you could find it? It could also be an action.

 

If you could write down their ideas of what the word means in their Home Work books and then develop their ideas until you get to the meaning of the word.
