ELG

Number: Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.

This week’s focus will be counting in 5’s.

Starter: counting in 5’s.

Main activity: the children have done a great job at learning their 5’s this week. Today we are just going to look at one more and one less. There is a link to a game below. Start with 1 – 20 but feel free to increase the numbers to create more challenge for your child. Just before they start ensure they can remember what one more and one less means.

Remember any work needs to go into their green work home books and on tapestry please.
