Shape, space and measures: Children use everyday language to talk about size, weight, capacity, position, distance, time and money to compare quantities and objects and to solve problems. They recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes and use mathematical language to describe them.
This week’s focus will be money.
Starter: counting in 2’s.
Main activity: I would like you to start off working through the PowerPoint and then the rest of today is a continuation of yesterday. It will focus giving change. Can you create a shop at home with your child being the shop keeper? Can they work out the change? How many items can you buy with your money? As a challenge you can ask your child how many items can I buy and still be left with change? For example I have 50p and I need 10p change what could I buy?
Remember any work needs to go into their green work home books and on tapestry please.
