ELG

Numbers: Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.

This week’s focus will be different every day. We will be looking at all of the maths we have covered over the half term.

Starter: shape hunters. What shapes can your child find around the house? This can be a 2D or 3D shape. Can you child explain the shapes features.

Main activity: today we are going to be looking at addition. I have attached some challenge addition word cards. I would ask that you read these to your child and help them to identify the number sum. For example, If you had 9 crisps and 3 sweets. How many would you have all together? So they would need to identify that you have 9 + 3 = 12. If they could write the sums into their green work books. Then they can move onto mathletics.

Remember any work needs to go into their green work home books and on tapestry please.
